This is the first time I entered birds in Fast Eddies Late Hatch Classic race and a California OLR in general. I had a couple late hatches in 2015, so I said “why not.” I sent two nest mates from one of my best pairs, Pachinko and Sweet Revenge. For those of you who have been […]

Understanding Antibiotic Resistance

Published by flyingtigerz under FTz Blog.

If you question five pigeon breeders on antibiotic usage you will most likely get five different answers. In most pigeon catalogs there are countless pages of antibiotic products ranging from broad spectrum “kill everything” antibiotics to antibiotics specific for certain bacteria or narrow spectrum antiobiotics. This article, however, is not about which antibiotics to use […]

The Truth About ACV

Published by flyingtigerz under FTz Blog.

If you have spent some time at the club house, you most likely have heard the phrase “put some ACV in the water.” It’s an old trick that many pigeon racers swear by, and many others are in opposition to. The majority of the controversy is likely caused by the lack of knowledge surrounding the […]

ISIS Kills Pigeon Breeders In Iraq

Published by flyingtigerz under FTz Blog.

In the Feb. 2015 edition of the Racing Pigeon Digest there is an unusual political article. Most articles I have read regarding pigeons and politics are in regards to the history of pigeons used for communication in war. Last year during Syria’s civil conflicts, an article and Youtube video showed the activist in Syria using […]
